The Great Global Greyhound Walk

New Zealanders are invited to get out and meet a greyhound as part of the Great Global Greyhound Walk.
Greyhounds are calm, affectionate and full of personality, and there is no better way to understand their appeal than spending some time with them. You will get the chance to do exactly that – come along and see for yourself what makes them such special companions.
The Tauranga walk, hosted by Greyhounds As Pets, leaves Robbins Park (in the open space between the Vintage Car Club and the Rose Garden) at 11:00am for an easy 45-minute stroll along the waterfront. It is one of 20 walks happening across New Zealand that morning, from Whangārei to Dunedin, with walkers collectively aiming to cover 3,000kms in a single day.
Free street parking is available, there's a café nearby, and buggies and wheelchairs are welcome.
There'll be prizes for best dressed, and those who'd like to stay on can head to Clarence Restaurant afterwards for lunch (own cost).
This year's theme is Mythical Mutts, so dress up if you like, from dragons and unicorns to fairies and mermaids.
The walk is free, open to everyone, and there will be plenty happening on the day.

Join us at Tauranga Club for an evening with candidates from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.
