Somewhere in Between

Children have a remarkable way of experiencing the world. They play without purpose. They ask endless questions. They find wonder in ordinary things. They laugh loudly, imagine freely, and live entirely in the moment. They don't worry about productivity, deadlines, status, or what comes next. They simply experience life as it happens. Then we grow up. We turn productivity into virtue. Rest into guilt. Hobbies into side hustles. Exercise into performance. Travel into content. Connection into notifications. Somewhere along the way, being busy became a badge of honour. We fill every spare moment, optimise every hour, and measure our lives in achievements, likes, streaks, steps, followers, deadlines, and destinations. Somewhere Between is a commentary on modern humanity and our relentless pursuit of more, is a reflection on what children instinctively know and adults often forget. Through moments of imagination, connection, curiosity, play, and wonder, this production explores the simplicity of being fully present, and asks what might happen if we carried a little more of that with us into adulthood. Because perhaps growing up isn't about leaving childhood behind. Perhaps it's about remembering what mattered most before the world taught us to be busy. Prices Adult: $42.50 Child: $30.20

A CENTURY OF SOUND: Gala Concert

The special weekend of centenary celebrations will open with a spectacular gala concert, hosted by Jolene James, in which three internationally acclaimed theatre organists showcase everything the Mighty Wurli is capable of. Scott Harrison lifts the curtain on the Wurli’s extraordinary inner workings, while performing musical showstoppers and nostalgic favourites. Baycourt’s inaugural resident organist Chris Powell reunites the Wurli with its theatrical roots, accompanying Tauranga opera talent in "The Merry Widow" before shifting gears through jazz, war-era anthems and ragtime.
