Tauranga Society of Artists Invites the Community to Celebrate Original Art in October.
The Tauranga Society of Artists Original Art Expo & Jensen Supreme Art Award returns from Thursday 1st October to Sunday 4th October 2026. From seasoned collectors to those searching for their first original artwork - all visitors are welcome to experience one of the Bay of Plenty's largest annual art events.
Held at Tauranga Boys' College Gymnasium, the four-day exhibition will feature more than 500 original artworks created by members of the Tauranga Society of Artists, showcasing an exciting mix of painting, drawing, printmaking, mixed media and more.
A highlight of the Expo is the prestigious Jensen Supreme Art Award, where 30 shortlisted artists compete for the Tauranga Art Society's premier award. Visitors can view the finalists, celebrate the winners and cast their own vote in the ever-popular People's Choice Award, proudly sponsored by Gordon Harris – The Art & Graphic Store.
Whether you're looking to begin an art collection, find a special piece for your home, or simply enjoy a day immersed in creativity, the Original Art Expo offers something for everyone. Visitors can meet local artists, watch live demonstrations, browse fine art prints and cards and gain an insight into the creative process.
The Tauranga Society of Artists, with more than 350 members, continues to foster and celebrate artistic talent throughout the Bay of Plenty. The Expo is its largest biannual event, bringing together established artists alongside exciting emerging talent under one roof.
