- Hand sculpting: No forms/moulds needed for this class, just good old free-sculpting fun!
- Learn about mushrooms: from spores to stipes and everything in between, learn all about the different parts of a mushroom, the different types, and why fungi matter so much.
- Expert Instruction: Receive guidance from experienced pottery instructors.
- All Necessary Materials: Everything you need to create a little mushroom character.
- Firing Services: Your finished creation will be dried, glaze dipped (clear top coat) and fired to perfection - ready to pick up in 4 weeks time.
- Therapeutic Experience: Engage in the meditative process of working with clay, promoting relaxation and creativity.
- Community Connection: Share the studio space with fellow pottery enthusiasts and fungi lovers, fostering connections and creative inspiration.

Celebrate the rising of Matariki with a vibrant day of connection, creativity, and remembrance at Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Library. Bring your whānau along for a day filled with hands-on activities and rich cultural experiences. Try your hand at raranga (weaving), create your own contemporary mini tukutuku panel, shape a clay taonga, join our history hunt, and learn the basics of poi. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of taonga pūoro and uplifting waiata shared throughout the day.
