Barkfest is the ultimate day out for everyone – whether you have a dog, love dogs, or simply want a fun-filled day with plenty to see, do, and enjoy with the whole family. There is something for everyone and every dog, with food, stalls, face painting, photo booths, masterclasses, and competitions for the everyday dog and their best friends. Following the success of the inaugural Cambridge event, Barkfest is excited to add a Tauranga event in 2026! Both events will feature the popular dog-related vendors, charities, and services, as well as fun competitions for all and master classes featuring local agility clubs, dog behaviorists and local council animal management presentations. E tū Ururangi – behold the winds of life, carrying the promise and vitality of Tāwhiri-rangi. Celebrate the rising of Matariki with a vibrant day of connection, creativity, and remembrance at Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Library. Bring your whānau along for a day filled with hands-on activities and rich cultural experiences. Try your hand at raranga (weaving), create your own contemporary mini tukutuku panel, shape a clay taonga, join our history hunt, and learn the basics of poi. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of taonga pūoro and uplifting waiata shared throughout the day.
