Art & Photography Competition for Teens - Opening Night!

Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga City Libraries Teen Advisory Panel invite you to enter their Art & Photography Competition for Teens! Enjoy having your art piece displayed in an exhibition at Tauranga Library during the July school holidays, with the chance to win a People's Choice award. All entrants will receive an email inviting them to register to attend the exhibition's Opening Night on Sunday, 5 July.
THEME: Shades of Green. Nature, envy, ocean... what is 'green' to you?
AGE GROUPS: Tween (11-13 years old) and Teen (14-18 years old)
PRIZES: Win a Prezzy card to buy yourself some more art supplies!
- $100 Prezzy Card - First Place Teen
- $100 Prezzy Card - First Place Tween
- $50 Prezzy Card - People's Choice
SUBMIT:
- Create a piece of art - a painting, drawing, or photograph
- Email us a hi-res copy of your entry. Include your name, age, and a title & short blurb about your piece
- Email your hi-res file to library.visits@tauranga.govt.nz
- Submissions open Monday, 20 April and close Friday, 19 June
THE FINE PRINT: One entry per person. Any entries identified as AI will be disqualified. Judges include prominent local artist Timo Rannali, Tauranga City Libraries Creative & Marketing Coordinator Daniel Petersen, and members of the Teen Advisory Panel.

E tū Ururangi – behold the winds of life, carrying the promise and vitality of Tāwhiri-rangi. Celebrate the rising of Matariki with a vibrant day of connection, creativity, and remembrance at Te Ao Mārama - Tauranga Library. Bring your whānau along for a day filled with hands-on activities and rich cultural experiences. Try your hand at raranga (weaving), create your own contemporary mini tukutuku panel, shape a clay taonga, join our history hunt, and learn the basics of poi. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of taonga pūoro and uplifting waiata shared throughout the day.
