A true people person, meet Robyn from nood

I sat down to chat with Robyn, the Manager of nood on Elizabeth Street and immediately felt so welcome, much like each time I step foot in her store, which is a little too often!

nood (said like Food but with a n), which stands for ‘new objects of desire’, has been in the city centre for 6 years now. They have 15 stores across New Zealand, with their head office based in Christchurch. Throughout covid they have managed to stay well stocked to ensure their customers aren’t waiting weeks or months for their order which is no mean feat in these challenging times.

When asking Robyn what she loved most about working for nood her response was “product and people”. Two keys things that have kept her coming back to work in the CBD for more than five and a half years now. The store is full of unique replica furniture to on trend homewares and quirky giftware. This season it’s all about neutrals and textures.

And what does Robyn love about the CBD? It’s the people for her. The fact she gets to know everyone in the surrounding businesses. They even have a local gentleman, Nelson, who pops in every Saturday without fail just to wish everyone a great day!

Her weakness is a coffee from Folk, so much so the team there know her order before she even walks in the door! They also had a staff dinner at Nectar a couple of weeks ago and the whole team raved about the fabulous food & staff!

nood is open 7 days a week with free carparking out the back on weekends, so pop in and meet Robyn and the team.
