We would like to invite you to a truly unusual feast night at The Crown, we’re celebrating Taste Tauranga Month with some truly wild flavours. Our chef Nola Allan, a well-seasoned food expert, is creating a 5 course menu that will heavily feature wild foraged ingredients, giving you a chance to explore amazing new wild flavours.
We are also teaming up with Wild Turkey and the team at Lion Nathan Breweries who will be there to tell you more about bourbon whiskey and open your mind to the entire Wild Turkey range. We’ve put together 5 great cocktails that have been paired by our head bartender to really compliment the wild menu. You’ll be able to sample all of the great bourbons and liqueurs
After being welcomed with a wild drink at arrival you will have time to mingle and enjoy the surroundings before taking your seat for the five course feast. Each dish will be truly seasonal, bringing together ingredients from Tauranga surrounds, creating an unique opportunity to rediscover lost flavours. Nola, Jeremy and restaurant owner Jess will be on hand after the event to chat with you and answer any questions you may have about the wild food and bourbons.
Scotch quail egg and cider poached pears. Duck breast with sour cherry jus and smoked white chocolate. Venison cutlet on parsnip puree with crushed walnuts. Rabbit Pappardelle Ragu. Goats cheesecake with honey poached rhubarb.
Due to the special nature of this event, we will be unable to cater for any vegetarian, vegan or gluten free diets. Any other allergies may be catered for if requested in advance.
