Friday Feelings - 22nd March

What's the feeling this weekend? Are you looking for something to do that will suit the whole family? I've put together a list of must-do's happening right here in our beautiful city centre.

Start the day at Our Place - our unique and boutique container village on Willow Street. There is something very exciting happening that I've been looking forward to for weeks now and that's the Food for Thought rescued food festival! It's happening on Saturday the 23rd March from 10am - 3pm. This is New Zealand's biggest rescued food festival where your gold coin entry will be donated to Good Neighbour and Te Aranui Youth Trust. There will be competitive cook-offs between 6 rival teams, food stalls, market items to purchase, live music and more. Plus, the infamous Burger Burger will be rock-staring in the Bayley’s Bay of Plenty kitchen! 💞🍔

When you've finished up at Food for Thought, head to Wharf Street and grab a coffee at one of the many cafes and restaurants then take a walk to the Tauranga waterfront where the kids can play on the playground while you sit watching the boats in the harbour and passers-by.

Are you or any member of your family a budding musician? The monthly Open Mic Night is happening on The Strand from 7:30pm. Grab a guitar, violin, microphone or whatever instrument you play and share your talent with others. If you’re more like me and appreciate great music, grab a seat instead and cheer everyone on!

Finish the night off with a bite to eat at The Crown and Badger, not too far from the Open Mic Night on the corner of Wharf Street and The Strand. We had Indian spiced cauliflower bites, a margherita pizza and fish tacos. So good, and the small child loved it too!

Enjoy your weekend in Downtown Tauranga.
