Falafels are their love language at Falafel Metro

As I sit down to meet with Daria & Tomer I am instantly welcomed with a delicious selection of falafel’s for me to try. I get the feeling that no one leaves without at least one falafel, it’s their love language.

Daria & Tomer have owned Falafel Metro since August this year. The opportunity to take the reigns came from an off the cuff comment made by their good friends and previous owners Mali & Ariel, and within 24 hours they had decided they would be the new owners. Having spent a couple of months working and training under “The Masters” watchful eye, it was time for them to take Falafel Metro into the next phase.

Daria & Tomer, both from Israel, are childhood sweethearts who now have a little one-year old sweetheart of their own. Tomer’s Dad is a kiwi and encouraged them to visit for a holiday 5 years ago now, that holiday saw Tomer propose in Milford Sound before saying their “I Do’s” in Tauranga a few weeks later. It wasn’t long after this holiday that they decided to make New Zealand home.

Their favourite part of owning Falafel Metro? Converting meat-lovers to falafels!
They love that the city centre offers all the cuisines under the sun. It’s not easy to find somewhere that specialises in falafels so that’s what makes Falafel Metro stand out from the rest – and that it does. You only have to walk past any day of the week and the place is always hustling and bustling with people enjoying their freshly made-to-order chickpea goodness.

If you’re looking for a quick, nutritious and satisfying lunch, look no further.
Falafel Metro is open 6 days a week (closed Sundays) and can be found in Red Square, Downtown Tauranga.
