Busters

23 June 2022

Checkered floors, pink and blue walls, posters of Elvis, old cowboy films, tigers, the Ramones, and a large antique mirror hanging on the wall. These were the first things I saw when I stepped inside the doors of Busters Tattoos and Barbershop. That and a very vibey atmosphere with people at the counter chatting and others behind the counter being tattooed.

I was met by Sammy, resident barber, and co-owner of Busters with her partner Charles – otherwise known and Chaz.

Sammy told me that she and Chaz have been dreaming of opening a tattoo and barbershop together for over 5 years. At the beginning of 2022, when a shop vacancy opened opposite Farmers and the new Elizabeth Street precinct, Sammy and Chaz decided to go for it. They opened Busters at the end of April 2022.

“Chaz and I were attracted to this area of the city. We see it as up-and-coming with lots of new shops opening and the city on a real rise with so much development going on”.

“We wanted to create a fun and funky space for like-minded people to come and enjoy. We welcome everyone and there is no judgement here.”

Find Busters Tattoo and Barbershop at 124 Devonport Road. They’re open Tuesday – Saturday.
