Remember when Mexican food was a box of hard-shelled tacos, a block of cheese and a packet of spice mix?
Thankfully, we've moved on from those days. Now we're importing the obscure chillies and other ingredients to make fresh authentic Mexican food and we've the drinks to match. Our Taste Tauranga menu shows you how to do it like the Mexicans do.... fresh food, Margaritas oh and maybe a few cheeky Tequilas.
Platter entrée paired with your choice of main – beef burgundy, Lamb provencale or vegetarian Dijon chou pastry, finishing with a dessert of dame blanche or crepe.
Start: a selection of ckicken wings, jalapeno poppers, mexican street corn, fries, tortilla chips with salsa
Mains: choice of beef nachos, chipotle chille beef burrito, chicken mexican slaw salad or vegetarian or chicken quesadilla.
Dessert: churros, chili chocolate cake or banana chimichanga

Our Taste Tauranga menu is a delicious mix of our old favourites and tasty new dishes guaranteed to put you in a “happy food coma” Everything is made in-house with fresh products and paired with the finest whisky Or if you’re feeling like a different tipple look out for our killer cocktail specials No matter what your belly desires, you’ll find it served at RYE.
Start with Jalepeno poppers and sticky honey and BBQ pork spare ribs, followed by a main of either rump steak, the notorious P.I.G burger or potato gratin. Finish it all off with a dessert of our duck island ice cream sandwich.
Collar & Thai
Each guest chooses an appetiser and main from the set menu attached, this will be served as a banquet to the table. Choices include tender marinated chicken, Thai spring rolls, seafood green curry, chicken stir fried in red wine sauce and vegetables and a special dessert of the day.
A great three course menu that starts with our Lone Star Artisan loaf served warm with butter. Second course is your choice of one of six great Lone Star medium meals, Dixie Chicken, Johnny Cash Stash Chicken, Stir Crazy Sirloin Steak, Redneck Ribs, Burrito Rancho and Rock the Boat Fish. Then finished off with one of three choices for dessert, Kiwi Pavlova, Longhorn Cheese Cake or the very popular Milky Bar Kid.
